A dozen Burmese Army soldiers killed in Northern Shan State

A KIA soldier who serves under Brigade 4 in Northern Shan State.

Over 12 Burmese Army soldiers were killed in clashes with the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) in Northern Shan State, said KIA officers.

The fighting occurred in areas of KIA’s Battalion 2 under the 4th Brigade in Kutkai Township, said KIA’s 4th Brigade officers.

A KIA officer was also killed in the fighting, confirmed a brigade officer to Kachin News Group.

Skirmishes are occurring daily between KIA and the Burmese Army in Northern Shan State after government troops captured Loikang, the KIA’s 4th Brigade headquarters in Kutkai Township on September 27.
